Annually, the Medicare Open Enrollment period (October 15 to December 7) is the time when new and recurring Medicare beneficiaries review their plan options for the year ahead. In November, a Twin Cities landmark will be the site of free one-on-one assistance to help seniors review and select their plan coverage for 2018.
On November 17, 27 and 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., staff and volunteers from Minnesota’s Senior LinkAge Line® will be at the AARP Minnesota Information Center conference room in the Mall of America to assist Medicare beneficiaries. AARP is on the second floor at the west side of the mall (228 W. Market).
Help will be provided on an individual basis and you can schedule an appointment by calling 952-858-9040. Individuals with an appointment should bring their Medicare card, a list of their medications with the dosages and the name and address of their preferred pharmacy.
The Senior LinkAge Line® is a service of the State of Minnesota and is the federally designated State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), providing free, objective information on Medicare options.
Directions to the AARP Center at the Mall of America: Park in the West parking ramp on level P2 or P3, as close as possible to the skyway entrance, which is between the two anchor stores (Macy’s and Nordstrom’s). Access the skyway by stairs or by elevator. The AARP Information Center is immediately on the left when entering the mall.
